THE GUIDING LIGHT

Paul Sawyier has created in this watercolor a very unique scene of a path through the woods, with beautiful summer colors. With the sunlight shining through the tree branches it seems appropriate to title this work "The Guiding Light" One always welcomes light as a guide forward.

This particular original has some of the most brilliant colors Sawyier ever used, and close examination will show many touch colors. Sawyier probably painted "The Guiding Light" as a preliminary to his creation of the "Two Brothers" an oil 25" x 40".

"The Guiding Light" would have been created over 100 years ago, while Sawyier still lived in Frankfort, Kentucky.
