This painting has been sold.

This watercolor by Paul Sawyier is an outstanding example of the artist's capability to capture the trees and undergrowth in a waterscape.

The owner of this painting and another Sawyier watercolor "Boone's Knoll" inherited the works from her great-aunt. She received them from her father who was apersonal friend of Sawyier.

Labeled on the back of the frame is "Undergrowth-Kentucky River" and "Artist-Paul Sawyer". The painting has a Kentucky era signature, establishing that the original was created over 100 years ago. It is in excellent condition.
